" We continually remember before our God and Father

your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by

love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our

Lord Jesus Christ. " [1 Thessalonians 1:3]

Paul is so thankful for the church. He’s inspired by their faith, hope and love. These are also the three reasons I am thankful for the Mattituck church. It is a place of faith, hope and love.

I see the longings for God, for a personal relationship with Christ. I hear almost daily of the journeys of faith. What a joy to know our church provides an open place for people who desire God in their lives. Sometimes I think that if the entire church budget were expended for the purpose of just one soul falling in love with God, it would all be worth it.

This is a church with a long record of hopefulness in areas of mission and evangelism. This hope is buoyed up by much prayer.

And love? Well love is what drives the church – love for God and love for neighbor. Do we have our faults? Certainly, but we are nevertheless a people of faith, hope and love, growing stronger and more mature by the grace of God. And I, for one, am as grateful for this church as Paul was for the one in Thessalonica.
